My bad, i tested with the version (https://openui5.hana.ondemand.com/)
SAPUI5 version : 1.24.4 (built at , last change )
core : 1.24.4 (built at 201411250954, last change ee95372b7d3ffae5ec3c0da5a8a154b3a3b7cfd0)
and assumed that the feature might be available from 1.24. But it seems it's only available from SAPUI5 version 1.24.4 & core 1.24.4.
Now, i checked the release notes where in openui5 1.24.4 --> the segment button icon & text restriction is fixed but the same fix is not found in sapui5 1.24.4 release notes
